Big thanks to Ethan for writing up this post for me, as I was unable to get to my computer today, and didn't have the time earlier during the week to do so.
The Current Situation
As you may have noticed, the server has not re-opened yet. This is due to an unforeseen issues with our server’s database and the new host.
We have been trying for several days to seek advice from the host and online to no avail. It seems that fixing this problem will be too difficult, if even possible in the first place.
We apologise for this, we did have this planned perfectly, I myself did the planning along with Sobki and Joe. There was no way we could have foreseen this or prepared for it, so we are having to deal with the hand we have been dealt.
We can continue trying to solve this problem but it is unknown how long it will take and we can’t estimate a date for completion.
Instead, a server revamp has been in the pipes for a while now. It was originally planned for beta testing around a month after the host change went smoothly, but as you can see it has not. The new server is nearing completion; by accelerating our work, we should be able to finish in around a week or two.
In the meantime I will open a Poll thread where you can decide where we focus our attention. Bear in mind that fixing the broken server we currently have could take longer than the new server would take to finish, and the new server will be released eventually either way.
The new server entails many new features:
-Every server build has been revamped by myself & Caz , including a new spawn and a new main arena (no more lakes).
-A new, actually balanced config
-A new wild to explore
-A revamped donation system and Spiritshop
-BCCore (revamped levelling system)
As mentioned in previous posts: bending levels, master, and subs will be reset for BCCore. This is because the levelling system is different in BCCore. Likewise the master and subs systems are being reworked. Fear not, you will be refunded for your subs and master status.
As this is a new server from the ground up, nothing will carry over to the new server apart from donation ranks and MCMMO.
We apologise for the lack of warning but we were hoping to release this later on. Unfortunately this situation has pushed our schedule forward.
Again, we couldn't have prepared for this problem and we’re trying our best. I’d like to thank everyone that has stuck by us through thick and thin from the bottom of my heart. This isn’t good enough and we will be taking precautions to avoid any future major downtime.
tl;dr: We’re still here, we’re still working to get BC back together and we promise we’ll continue to do that no matter what. Sorry for the unexpected downtime.
